Tennis Wraps Up Fall Campaign With Sweep Of Wagner

BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams swept Wagner College on Saturday afternoon to complete their fall seasons of competition.

The women topped the Seahawks, 7-0, and the men were 5-2 victors.

Kevin Zingler and J. Pierce Norton teamed to win, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles, while Keyan Sanai and Harrison Kunkel won by the same score at No. 2. Ryan Fitzgerald and Eric Michaelis completed the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win at No. 3.

Zingler continued the winning ways for the men, defeating his opponent, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 2 singles, and Kunkel was a 6-2, 6-1, winner at No. 3 singles. Connor Lisco scored a 6-0, 6-1, win at No. 4 singles, and Keishi Goto swept Wagner's No. 6 player, 6-0, 6-0, to complete the victory for the Greyhounds.

Loyola's women won all nine matches on Saturday. Rachel Janasek and Olivia Ott were 8-1 winners at No. 1 doubles, and Sabrina Fedele and Tiffany Ash won, 8-0, at No. 2. Judy Lite and Jackie Lionetta completed the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win at No. 3.

Janasek swept her No. 1 singles opponent, 6-0, 6-0, and Fedele dealt Wagner's No. 2 singles player a 6-1, 6-1, defeat. Ash was a 6-1, 6-1, winner at No. 3 singles, and Lite defeated the Seahawks' No. 4 player, 6-1, 6-1. Ott won, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles, and Liz Black was a 6-1, 6-1, winner at No. 6 singles.
