Emmittsburg, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland men's tennis team competed at the Mount St. Mary's Tournament in Emmittsburg, Md., where in five flights out of six, the Greyhounds played each other for the championship. The Greyhounds will compete next at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa., Friday-Sunday, October 8-10.
Sanai and Gorczakowski defeated Wilson and Cywinski of Washington, 8-4, and beat Mount St. Mary's Blake and Place, 8-6.
Norton and Zingerl defeated Washington's Menzione and Kaltman, 8-3, and beat Gettysburg Curran and Keegan, 8-4.
Lisco and Fitzgerald defeated Peason and Deshiell of Washington, 8-0, and Pratt and Fortenbaugh of Gettysburg, 8-6.
D'Agostino and Russo defeated Gettysburg McLaughlin and Nelson, 8-3, and beat Plastow and Marinucci of Mount St. Mary's, 9-8 (7-2).
In Flight "A" of singles, Sanai took third place with a win over John Menzione of Washington, 6-1, 6-0.
In Flight "B" of singles, Gorczawski and D'Agostino played each other in the championships match where Gorczawski came out on top winning 6-2, 6-2.
In Flight "C" of singles, Lisco and Russo played each other for first and second place where Lisco won the match, 6-1, 6-1.
