Hahn, Lanciano To Play For Loyola Invitational Title Sunday

BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland's Megan Hahn and Amanda Lanciano will play a team from George Mason University on Sunday for the Loyola Invitational title.

The duo won two matches on Saturday to advance to the championship round where they will face the Patriots' Olivia Lacy-Thompson and Esu Erdenebat.

In the quarterfinals, Hahn and Lanciano rallied to win both singles matches after falling in doubles to Longwood University's Paloma Alatorre and Mason Thomas. Hahn dispatched Alatorre, 6-1, 6-3, and Lanciano defeated Thomas, 6-4, 6-2.

The duo then beat another George Mason pair, Morgan Yang and Nicole Haigwood, in the semifinals. Hahn and Lanciano won 8-6 in doubles, and Hahn clinched the round with a 6-0, 6-1, win over Yang in singles play.

Julie Clark and Nicole Eberle won their consolation quarterfinals match, sweeping Longwood's Maria Coronel and Daniela Diaz. The duo lost, however, in the next round.

The Greyhounds' third team, Emily Hughes and Haleigh Morgus, will play for fifth place on Sunday after winning their last match of the day, 2-1, over Mount St. Mary's University's Brittany Poje and Emma Blake.

Hughes and Morgus defeated the Mountaineers pair, 8-5, in doubles, and Morgus clinched the round with a 6-0, 6-1, win over Blake in singles.

The invitational's final day will commence Sunday at 9 a.m. at the McClure Tennis Center.
