Tennis Finishes Play At Navy, Saint Joseph's

Men's & Women's Results Get Acrobat Reader

The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up competition Sunday at a pair of events, the women finishing up in Annapolis at the Bill and Sandra Moore Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy, while the men played at the Saint Joseph's Invitational in Philadelphia.

Brett Shriver won a super-tiebreaker in the Flight 2 first round on the men's side over La Salle's Brian Balico, advancing with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 victory. John Feruzzi defeated Saint Joseph's Nick Ringle, 7-5, 7-5, in the Flight 4 first round, as well.

Jordan Kuchta and Greg Olesnycky advanced to the men's Flight 1 Doubles quarterfinals, beating Villanova's William Elmore and Tim Abbracciamento, 8-5, in the first round.

Matthew Beijan and Max Shanbrom won their opening round match in the Flight 2 Doubles, topping Saint Joseph's Clark Ruiz and Valentijn Van Erven, 9-8 (5).

Julie Clark won her opening match on the B singles draw for the women, topping George Mason's Jane Awad, 6-1, 7-5. Ott did the same thing in the C draw, defeating Navy's Summer Ralston, 6-4, 6-4.

Ott and Emily Hughes were first-round winners in the B singles draw, defeating Towson's Sophie Lesage and Lucy Williams, 8-3.
