BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team met a tough matchup with the Naval Academy on Thursday afternoon at Butler Courts, as they fell 7-0.
In doubles, the Greyhounds kept it close in both #1 and #2 matches. Freshmen Haleigh Morgus and Emily Hughes came up short in an 8-6 defeat to Navy's Erin Snook and Noelle Kaufmann. #2 pairings Megan Hahn and Olivia Ott fell to the Midshipmen in a tough 9-7 match.
In singles, Navy continued the momentum taking the rest of the matches against Loyola. Hughes played strong in #2 singles as she took Navy's Snook to extra sets, 3-6, 6-4, (11).
The squad's record moves to 12-6 for the season with the lose. They are back in action on Saturday as they take on MAAC foe Saint Peter's at Butler Courts. Start of the match is set for 10 a.m.
