Greyhounds Win Home Tennis Finales Over Coppin State

BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team did not lose a single point and defeated visiting Coppin State, 6-0, on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Greyhound men's team had similar success and beat the Eagles, 5-1, in the final home matches of the season for both teams.

On the women's side, Rachel Janasek, Joy Johnson, Tiffany Ash, Andie Keyser-Baker, Lane Maloney and Liz Black were all winners at 1-6 singles without dropping a point.

Keyan Sanai won at No. 1 singles for the men, defeating James Jeffreys, 6-4, 6-3, and Patrick Glaessner topped Jahra Wigfall, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 3 actoin.

Rob Mattison and Jon Ramalho were victorious in No. 4 and No. 5 singles by 6-0, 6-0, margains, Eric Michaelis won by default at No. 6. Bobby Gorczakowski was edged by Quincy Darko, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (6), 10-6, in No. 2 singles.

The Greyhounds wrap up their regular-season this weekend when they head to Central New York to face Siena on Saturday and Marist on Sunday.
