BALTIMORE - Megan Hahn won her No. 1 singles match in straight sets, and two other Greyhounds stretched their contests to three, but the U.S. Naval Academy defeated Loyola University Maryland, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon at the McClure Tennis Center.
Hahn was a 6-3, 6-4, winner at No. 1 singles, beating Navy's Katie Porter.
Haleigh Morgus won the No. 4 singles second set, 7-5, after falling 6-4, in the first, but she was edged in a tiebreaker in the third by Summer Ralston, 7-6 (7). Julie Clark also rallied to win the second set after losing the first, but Audrey Channell was a winner for the Midshipmen at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
Navy came away with the doubles point, topping the Greyhounds in a pair of close matches at No. 2 and 3. Ralston and Allie Pavlansky beat Hahn and Olivia Ott, 8-5 in the No. 2 match, and Mikaela Carlson and Rozel Hernandez slipped past Morgus and Emily Hughes, 8-7 (4), in the third.
