LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams lost just one set on Monday afternoon, and the Greyhounds defeated host Rider University in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
The men were 7-0 winners, while the women won 6-0.
Loyola's men won the doubles point with three victories, losing a combined three points. Kevin Zingler and Harrison Kunkel defeated Rollie Malfitano and Nick Lubold, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles, and Keyan Sanai and Bobby Gorczakowsi downed Drew Laverty and Matt DiMartino, 8-0, at No. 2.
Sanai beat Malfitano, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 1 singles, and Zingler defeated Milosovici, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2. Gorczakowski downed Carpenter, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, and Lisco was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Laverty at No. 4.
Kunkel got past Lubold, 6-2, 6-1, and Glaessner was a 3-6, 6-1, 10-5, victor against DiMartino.
On the women's side, Rachel Janasek and Sabrina Fedele defeated Tricia Ashmore and Marly Roche, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles, and Scarlett Hoy and Judy Lite beat Michelle Caravagilo and Alexa Manforti, 8-1, at No. 2.
Rider did not have enough players, so the Broncs defaulted the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles slots.
Janasek opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-2, win over Roche, and Hoy defeated Ashmore, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
