George Mason Edges Women's Tennis, 4-3

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University won four of the six singles matches to edge visiting Loyola University Maryland, 4-3, on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action.

The Greyhounds (12-4) won the doubles point as Rachel Janasek and Olivia Ott won their 23rd match of the season, 8-3, over Alison Wingo and Ashley Delaney, and Sabrina Fedele and Tiffany Ash dropped Liza Davis and Andy Londen, 8-5.

Kiersten Pappas and Brooke Blackwell won at No. 2 doubles for the Colonials, 8-7, over Judy Lite and Scarlett Hoy.

Janasek then won her No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5, over Wingo, and Ott toppled Londen, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6 singles for Loyola.

George Mason, however, drew four wins at No. 2-5 singles. Delaney beat Hoy, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2, and Blackwell defeated Fedele, 6-2, 6-2, in the third flight.

Davis got by Ash, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4, and Pappas edged Lite, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 5.
