Women's Tennis Scores Straight-Sets Win Over Jaspers

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team did not drop a set on Friday evening, as the Greyhounds defeated host Manhattan College, 7-0, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Riverdale Tennis Club.

Rachel Janasek and Olivia Ott got things started in winning fashion with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles against Lili Johnson and Brianna Turano, and Scarlett Hoy and Judy Lite followed with an 8-4 victory over Hilary Valenzuela and Caitlin Bricketto at No. 2. Sabrina Fedele and Tiffany Ash completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 triumph over Alyssa Rosello and Catherline Clark at No. 3.

The Greyhounds, who improved to 12-3 this season and 2-0 in the MAAC, continued their success in singles play.

Janasek scored a 6-2, 6-1, win over Johnson at No. 1 singles, while Hoy defeated Valenzuela, 6-2, 6-0, in the second flight.

Fedele topped Caitlin Bricketto, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, and Ash downed Turano, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 4.

Lite got past Stephanie Tsao, 6-2, 6-0, in the fifth flight, and Ott completed the Greyhounds' sweep, 6-1, 6-0, over Rosello.
