George Mason Defeats Men's Tennis

BALTIMORE - Three Loyola University Maryland men's tennis players pushed their matches to three sets, but George Mason University came away with a 7-0 sweep of the Greyhounds on Thursday afternoon.

Keyan Sanai and J. Pierce Norton won their respective first sets at the No. 1 and 2 flights, but Sanai lost 4-6, 6-4, (7) to Jordan Dykes, and Norton fell, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, to Jimmy Davis.

Bobby Gorczakowski rallied from a 6-3 setback in the first set against Scott Keaton in No. 4 singles to win the second set 3-6. Keaton, however, closed out the match with a 6-3 victory in the third set.

Jorge Osuna defeated Kevin Zingler, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles, and Taylor Sargent topped Connor Lisco, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 5. Harrison Kunkel lost a close match, 7-5, 6-3, to Joe Wiggins at No. 6 singles.

The Patriots got off to a 1-0 lead after sweeping the doubles point. Norton and ingler were defeated, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles by Dykes and Davis, while Sanai and Gorczakowski were edged, 8-5, by Keaton and Wiggins at No. 2. Sargent and Chris Borden compled the George Mason sweep with a No. 3 doubles victory, 8-4, over Lisco and Patrick Glaessner.
