Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland tennis teams swept a pair of matches Sunday afternoon from St. Francis (Pa.) at Loyola's Butler Courts with the men taking a 4-3 decision and the women winning by default, 7-0. Both teams improved their records on the season to 6-1 with the wins.
The Greyhounds got the match started right with a win in doubles by taking two of the three matches with 8-0 shutouts for the single point. Juniors J. Pierce Norton and Kevin Zingler combined for a win at No. 1 doubles and a win was followed in No. 2 doubles with a victory by senior Dan D'Agostino and junior Keyan Sanai.
Sanai (No. 1 singles), Zingler (No. 3) and D'Agostino (No. 5) collected Loyola's wins in singles with Zingler collecting a hard-fought three-set win for the clinching point. Both Sanai and D'Agostino recorded straight-set wins.
In the women's match, the Red Flash failed to field a team, defaulting the match.
