Women's Tennis Takes Down Morgan State

BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland women's tennis got back to its winning ways four days after losing its first dual match of the 2011-2012 season, defeating Morgan State University, 5-2, on a spring-like afternoon in Charm City.

Loyola swept the doubles point as Rachel Janasek and Olivia Ott beat Arina Allieuva and Margarita Belyakova, 8-5, in No. 1 doubles and Scarlett Hoy and Judy Lite topped Jasmine Edwards and Tiffany Hughes, 8-1. Sabrina Fedele and Tiffany Ash won by default at No. 3.

Janasek was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles over Allieuva, and Ash defeated Hughes, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4. Lite topped Stephanie Henry, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. Ott was winner at No. 6 by default.

Belyakova edged Hoy, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2, and Edwards beat Fedele, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3.
