DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Loyola University Maryland freshman swimmer Julien Brice is competing this week for his native Saint Lucia at the 10th-Annual FINA World Short-Course Swimming Championships.
Brice, who is one of the youngest competitors at the meet, clocked a time of 1:02.20 to finish third in his heat of the 100-meter butterfly on Wednesday.
He then finished fourth in his heat of the 50-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 24.55.
Although he did not advance to the finals of either event, Brice will swim in the 50-meter butterfly on Friday and wrap up his meet program on Saturday with the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley.
