Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola women's swimming and diving team will host Siena and Mount St. Mary's this Saturday at the Mangione Aquatic Center at 1 pm. The Greyhounds, who are coming off a solid weekend at the H2Ounds Invitational, will be competing for the final time this semester.
Loyola enters the final weekend of the semester coming off a weekend where it swept the MAAC Swimmer of the Week honors with freshmen Matthew Fralinger and Caitlin Cassidy. Overall, the 'Hounds have had a highly successful fall with a number of school records and top times set.
Most notably came last weekend's team effort, which gave the men's program its first-ever win over MAAC foe Marist. The Greyhound men won the H2Ounds Invitational with victories over Marist, Delaware and Drexel.
Apart from Fralinger's strong swims and steady performance this season, the men have had records set in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke with freshmen Sam McQuaid and Jake Swiggett setting those marks respectively.
On the women's side, Cassidy has set the 100-yard butterfly school record and has top three times in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events. Junior Tori Kamauff has also set a Loyola record this season with a great swim in the 200-yard freestyle.
Loyola will take a month-long break after this Saturday's meet. The break will include a Florida Training Trip the first week of the New Year and competition will resume on January 12 at Rider. This weekend's meet is Loyola's final regular season home meet of the 2007-08 season.
