EDISON, N.J. - Loyola freshman swimmer Courtney Trivino was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Female Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced today.
Trivino helped lead the Greyhounds women's team to MAAC wins over Manhattan and Siena on Saturday, taking two individual first-place finishes and leading off on a victorious relay team. She also set two pool records at Siena.
Trivino led off the Greyhounds' 200-yard medley relay, helping Loyola win the event in a pool-record time of 1:50.61. She then was first to the wall in the 200-yard backstroke, setting a pool record with a time of 2:08.87.
Trivino wrapped up her day with a victory in the 200-yard individual medley. Due to a timing malfunction, however, her time was not available for the event.
She is the second Loyola women's swimmer to earn the award this season. Two Loyola men have been named MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, as well.
