EDISON, N.J. - For the second week in a row, and third time this season, Loyola University Maryland sophomore Brennan Morris was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced today.
On Saturday, Morris helped the Greyhounds win the Thomas Murphy Invitational, winning three individual events.
He swam the sixth-fastest time in all of NCAA Division I thus far in 2010-2011, winning the 400-yard individual medley in 3:56.06.
Morris also won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:31.83, defeating the second-place finisher by over nine seconds. He then touched the wall first in 2:07.63 to win the 200-yard breaststroke. Morris was also a part of two winning Loyola relay teams at the meet.
The award is his this of the season and sixth of his career. Morris also won MAAC Swimmer of the Week laurels last Tuesday and on October 19.
Loyola is back in the pool on Saturday when it hosts the men and women from Howard University and the women of Mount St. Mary's University at 1 p.m.
