CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland freshman Lindsey Staszewski has been named the Corvias Patriot League Female Diver of the Week, as announced by the League office Monday.
Staszewski picked up her second individual win on the 3-meter boards on Saturday to remain undefeated in the event throughout her young career. Competing against Drexel and Lafayette, Staszewski turned in a score of 242.95.
Through two meets this season, the South Bend, Indiana, native has picked up three individual diving wins, as she also swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving titles against American.
Sophomore transfer Ben Cono, the Corvias Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Wwek last week, was also included on the League's honor roll after picking up two individual wins and one relay victory over the weekend. Cono remained undefeated in breaststroke events by touching first in the 100 breast with a time of 56.24 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:07.11. His 100 breast time ranks third in program history.
This marks the first career weekly award for Staszewski.
Loyola will return to action this weekend when it hosts the two-day Thomas Murphy Invitational. Events will begin Friday at 5 p.m., with two sessions on Saturday, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
