Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola swimming and diving teams return to Mangione Aquatic Center this Friday and host Saint Francis University in a women's meet and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in both men's and women's action. Friday's meet is at 5 p.m. while on Saturday, the Greyhounds host the Alumni in their annual Alumni Meet.
The `Hounds are off to an extremely good start this season with both the men and women posting 4-1 overall records in their first two meets. Loyola opened the year at home against Navy, George Washington and Catholic, going 2-1 in the tri-meet.
The Greyhounds were on the road last weekend, posting wins over Providence and Fairfield while setting a combined nine school records.
Senior Ryan Reeser has led the men with three school records this season and has been named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week in each of the first two weeks. Reeser, who won the 200 Free in the season opener, set a Loyola record in the 400 Free at Fairfield and was a member of two record-setting relays.
On the women's side, senior Michelle Ryan set two school records last weekend while freshmen Megan Meyer, Megan Royer and Melissa White are off to fast starts to their respective college careers, setting records of their own in the 100-yard butterfly, 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke respectively.
Both the men and women will compete in Saturday's Alumni Meet, which begins at 1 p.m.
