MONTREAL - Becca Meyers, who will be a freshman on the Loyola University Maryland swimming and diving team in 2013-2014, completed competition at the International Paralympic Committee World Swimming Championships with two gold medals and two silver medals.
The Timonium, Md., native won the 400-meter freestyle in the S13 category by nearly 23 seconds, touching the wall in 4:35.98. Spain's Marta Maria Gomez Battelli was second in 4:58.61.
She also took top honors in the 200-meter individual medley and earned silver medals in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle.
Meyers was born with Usher Syndrome, a rare disorder which effects her sight.
Loyola Head Coach Brian Loeffler is also in Montreal serving as one of the U.S. team's coaches.
