EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands - Loyola University Maryland senior-to-be Philip Scholz entered Sunday's 200-meter individual medley with the 11th-best seed time amongst competitors at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Championships in Holland.
He moved up to sixth in the preliminaries, and then finished fifth with a time of 2:38.42 in the finals, moving up six spots from his seed time.
Scholz, who is a member of the two-time defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Team at Loyola, is blind and competes in the S11 category of the Paralympic competitions.
His scheudle, which includes seven events on six days, continues Monday with the 100-meter breaststroke.
