BALTIMORE, Md. - Juniors Ryan Reeser, Drew Crampton, Liz Chlebda and Bridgette Schertle have been selected as captains of the 2006-2007 Greyhound swimming and diving teams, it has been announced by Coach Brian Loeffler.
"I have high hopes for the 2006-2007 season," Loeffler said. "I have complete confidence in Ryan, Drew, Liz and Bridgette's ability to lead the team."
Reeser completed a stellar junior campaign this past season after setting the school record in the 1000 free. He earned second place at the MAAC Championships in the event and also took fourth place in the 200 freestyle event, helping the Greyhounds to a third place finish. In addition, he recorded an individual title in the 500 free on the opening day of the conference meet.
Crampton finished in eighth place at the MAAC Championships in the 100 free with a time of :47.86. He also earned eighth place in the 50 free with an ECAC `B' qualifying mark of :22.02.
Chlebda earned sixth place in the 100 breaststroke at the MAAC Championships with a time of 1:09.30. Meanwhile, Schertle recorded her best times at the conference meet in the 500 free (5:41.51) and the 1650 free (18:54.71), helping Loyola finish in third place.
"We have a large talented freshman class that will join us," Loeffler said. "The captain's leadership will be key to our success."
