Morris Earns Mid-Major All-America Honors

BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland freshman Brennan Morris was named to the Mid-Major All-America Honorable Mention team on Tuesday following an outstanding first season for the Greyhounds.

Morris earned Men's Most Outstanding Swimmer honors at the 2010 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships after scoring 60 individual points and helping the Greyhounds win their second title in as many years.

The native of Lutherville, Md., set four MAAC records at the meet and won the 1,650-yard freestyle, the 1,000-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle at the meet.

Morris earned two NCAA `B' Qualifying times during the season, in his 1,650-yard freestyle victory at the MAAC Championships and during a December meet in the 200-yard individual medley.

He also won a pair of events, the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke, at the ECAC Championships.

During the season, Morris set several school records and earned three MAAC Swimmer of the Week honors.
