Edison, N.J. - Loyola's swimming and diving teams placed 18 athletes, including 2005 MAAC Male Swimmer of the Year Marko Turcinov, on the 2005 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) New York Lottery All-Academic Team as announced by the conference offices.
The Greyhound women, who placed third at this past weekend's MAAC Championships, placed the following 13 athletes on the squad: Jayme Adams, a junior marketing major, Melissa Birkenmeier, a junior sociology major, Mary Chlebda, a sophomore speech pathology major, Elizabeth Corvo, a sophomore Frecnch major, Kaitlyn Dambach, a sophomore biology/chemistry major, Lisa Davey, a biology major, Allison Duffy, a junior psychology major, Elizabeth Ferry, a junior biochemistry major, Laura Hanlon, a sophomore, Shannon Mahon, a senior speech pathology major, Meagan Parrott, a sophomore biology major, Stephanie Pellulo, a junior communications major, and Bridget Schertle, a sophomore speech pathology major.
Loyola's men, who finished third at MAAC's, placed five athletes on the All-Academic team. Marko Turcinov, who set three MAAC records and two pool records at the MAAC Championships, made the team as a senior economics major. He was joined on the squad by Sam Brownell, a senior economics major, James Harris, a junior marketing major, Mark Lachiewicz, a senior biochemistry major, and James Malone, a junior marketing major.
