Twenty-Four Greyhounds Named To MAAC S&D All-Academic Teams

EDISON, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland has placed 24 Greyhounds on the 2012 Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving All-Academic Teams, as announced Thursday night by the league office.

The Greyhounds had 19 women named to the team - more than any other school in the conference - while the men had five swimmers honored.

On the women's side, Loyola was represented by seven seniors, Melissa Addonizio, Micaela Dumm, Mary Henkels, Lauren Mari, Carissa McStay, Nicole Romano and Caitlin Winkler. Juniors Kathleen Del Duca, Maddi Joyal, Kelly Maluccio, Casey McCusker, Taylor Moore, Abby Wiese, were also honored with sophomores Avery Allen, Victoria Arturi, Stephanie Baliko, Kelly Gajdzisz, Erin Shea and Noelle Staib.

The Greyhound men that garnered all-academic team honors were seniors Marc Fink and Tony Florida, in addition to sophomores Ben Duva, Drew Husted and Ryan Leonard.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
