BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland junior Caitlin Cronin has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the second-straight week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Cronin earned a pair of first-place finishes against crosstown-rival UMBC in the Greyhounds’ final home meet of the season on Saturday. The Kingston, Mass., native touched first in the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:01.00 and won the 200 freestyle in 1:55.49. She also finished runner-up in the 100 free with a time of 53.48.
This marks the second time this season that Cronin has garnered weekly honors from the MAAC. It’s also the fourth time in her career she’s earned the accolade.
Loyola will return to the pool Wednesday night for a mid-week meet at La Salle. Events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
