Loudonville, N.Y. - Loyola's swimming and diving teams recorded another sweep of its opponents on both the men's and women's side for the third straight week on Saturday, this time against MAAC opponents Manhattan and Siena in Loudonville, N.Y.The men's team defeated Manhattan, 68-36, while the Greyhound women topped Manhattan 66-31 and Siena 104-36.
In the women's 1000-yard freestyle, Loyola's Victoria Kamauff and Caitlin Winkler, walked away with first and second place with times 10:41.95 and 10:57.98 respectively, out-swimming third place Siena swimmer Bethany Fried by more than 10 seconds.
Loyola's men again swept the board in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Marc Fink took the lead spot in the butterfly event with a time of 57.32, Michael DiNapoli finished at 49.52 for first in the freestyle and Tim Rowe took first in the backstroke.
Loyola's divers swept all top spots in the men's and women's 1-meter dive. Ciara Huey-Burns placed first in the women's 3-meter dive and scored 186.98 points. Candice Rooney placed third in that event with a total of 161.25 points. For the men's 3-meter event, Loyola's Ben Schwartz and Ben DiFranco took the top two spots.
The Greyhounds next host the Villanova men, the Delaware men and women and MAAC opponent Marist men and women for a weekend meet on December 5th and 6th at the Mangione Aquatic Center.
