Swimming And Diving Closes Out Regular Season At Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Loyola University Maryland swimming and diving team closed out its regular season on Saturday at Bucknell's Bison Invitational.

The Greyhounds' 200 free relay team of Erin Calderoni, Tara Mulligan, Liz McKenna and Brianna Keelan started the day with a fifth-place finish in 1:39.56, while the men's squad of Phillip Jones, Alec Sperandio, Nigel Hunter and Ruslan Kopunek followed that up with a third-place finish in 1:27.20.

In individual events, Arianna Dean took fifth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.39, out-touching teammate Brianna Keelan, who touched sixth in 2:12.81.

In the 100 back, Elizabeth Verzella was seventh with a time of 1:00.68, and Aidan O'Hara took fifth in the 100 breast, completing the race in 1:01.65.

Dean notched her second top-five finish in the 200 fly, finishing in 2:13.65, while Cole Christy logged a seventh-place finish in the men's race (2:00.02).

In the 100 free, Jack Bair was sixth in 49.03 and Erika Winkler touched fourth in the 1650 free (18:48.51).

In diving events, Ryan Conley finished eighth with a score of 18:48.51.

The Greyhounds closed out competition with a fourth and second place finish in the women's and men's 200 medley relay races, respectively.

The women's squad of McKenna, Cara Egan, Maddie Myers and Keelan finished in 1:51.99, while Zeke Wolfgang, Dale Maholage, Rich Mueller and Kopunek teamed for a time of 1:36.34.

Up next, Loyola will return to Bucknell for the 2015 Patriot League Championships. Events are scheduled to run Wednesday, Feb 18 through Saturday, Feb. 21.
