Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Charles Street foe Towson on Saturday afternoon at the Mangione Aquatic Center. It was the final regular season home meet for Loyola's seniors and they stepped up with strong performances despite the loss.
Senior diver Megan Sterback was among the winners, taking the 1- and 3-meter diving events. Sterback posted a 216.22 on the 1-meter and a 228.07 on the 3-meter for the `Hounds. Freshman Alexandra Coletta placed second in both events.
Senior Ryan Reeser again led the men with a win the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.76) while also leading the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay teams to victory. Senior Jennie Zohorsky won the 200 IM for the women while senior Carl Sylvester won the 200 IM for the men.
Loyola's winning relay teams included Reeser, Doug Alban, Ernest Verrico and senior Drew Crampton in the 200 Medley with a time of 1:37.19. The men's 400 Free team, which tapped in at 3:09.81, consisted of Ryan Reeser, Brad Reeser, Crampton and Verrico.
Other winners included freshman Zachary Oster, who won both the 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle events. Oster swam a 1:03.01 to edge out Crampton in the 100 Breast and swam a 4:49.62 to win the 500 Free.
The Greyhounds close out the regular season at Iona tomorrow afternoon.
