TOWSON, Md. - Loyola University Maryland men's swimming and diving team won eight individual events and a relay on Saturday afternoon, defeating host Towson, 165-123.
The Greyhounds' women lost, 251-49, to Towson and were topped, 244-56, by James Madison.
Brad Reeser captured three of the wins for the Greyhounds and anchored the team's 200-yard medley relay to a victory in 1:35.61. Sam McQuaid, Colin Chenet and Ozzy Torres swam the first three legs for the Greyhounds.
Courtney Trivino was the women's top finisher on Saturday, taking third in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.98.
Reeser also won the three sprint races, swimming 21.47 in the 50-yard freestyle, 47.19 in the 100-yard version and 1:43.16 in the 200-yard freestyle.
With the senior leading the way, Loyola took the top three spots in all three of the races. Tony Florida was second in the 50 freestyle (21.96), and Nick Spetsas was third (22.21). In the 100 freestyle, Zach Oster was second behind Reeser in 48.16, while Florida took third (48.34).
Jonathan Wertz touched the wall in second with a 200 freestyle time of 1:46.20, and Oster took third (1:46.29).
Loyola also had the top two finishers in the 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle. A week after sweeping the top two places at Rider, Matt Fralinger and Colin Chenet had another tight race against the Tigers. Fralinger edged his teammate by 0.15 seconds with a time of 58.46.
Jacob Drannan was another multi-event winner for Loyola. He touched first in the 200-yard backstroke (1:56.78) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.48).
On the women's side, Megan Shovlin claimed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.75) and 10th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.98), and Kali Solack took eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.17) and ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.00).
Taylor Moore was the top finisher for the women in the 200-yard butterfly (7th, 2:17.49), and Ginna Sabens was eighth in the 200-yard individual meldey (2:20.28).
Meaghan McCotter was seventh in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:07.96), and Megan Barry was 10th in 2:14.91.
For the men, Anthony Bussanich placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:13.48), and Ryan Shovlin was fourth (10:21.59). Mukri finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (53.42), while Marc Fink was second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.64), and Torres was second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.91).
Loyola returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action next weekend when it travels to Fairfield, Conn., for a 10:00 a.m. meet at Fairfield against the host Stags and Iona.
