PHILADELPHIA - Erin Calderoni won the 200 free, Rob Walker claimed the 200 IM victory and the Loyola University Maryland men's and women's swimming and diving teams captured the 200 freestyle relay titles in a dual meet at LaSalle on Thursday.
Calderoni touched in 1:56.33, while Walker led the Greyhounds to a 1-2-3 finish in 2:06.47. Stephen Tonaszuck was second (2:10.27) and GJ Apostle was third (2:11.00).
In the 200 free relay events, Loyola's women's squad of Calderoni, Brianna Keelan, Liz McKenna and Tara Mulligan combined for a winning time of 1:39.87, while the men's side of Jack Bair, Nigel Hunter, Phillip Jones and Ruslan Kopunek touched in 1:29.03.
The Greyhounds started the day with a runner-up finish in the women's 400 medley relay, as the team of Marie Clarkson, Tara Mulligan, Maddie Myers and Brianna Keelan finished in 4:01.03. Andrew Mann then claimed a runner-up finish in the 1000 free (10:04.89), which he followed up later with a third-place finish in the 500 free (4:58.61).
Kaitlin Richter finished second in the 200 fly in 2:13.41, followed by teammate Jenna Brown, who completed the race in 2:14.69.
In the 100 fly, Maddie Myers and Keelan finished second and third, respectively. Myers finished in 1:01.22 to narrowly out-touch Keelan (1:01.32).
In 1-meter diving, Maggie Garrahan finished second with a score of 237.45 and Noel Theroux was third in the men's competition with a score of 253.20.
As a team, the Explorers swept the Greyhounds by scores of 213-87 on the women's side and 216-78 on the men's side.
Loyola will return to the pool on Friday when the women host Mount St. Mary's on Senior Day. Events are scheduled for 5 p.m., at Mangione Pool.
