BALTIMORE - Aidan O'Hara won two events and was second in a third for the Loyola University Maryland men's swimming and diving team, but Lehigh University swept the Greyhounds men's and women's teams Saturday afternoon at Mangione Pool at the Fitness and Aquatics Center. The Mountain Hawks men won 169-129, and the women were 186-108 victors.
O'Hara won the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley for the Greyhounds.
Wolfgang and Aidan O'Hara went one-two in the 100-yard backstroke as the former touched the wall in 53.21, 12-hundredths of a second in front of the latter. Tara Mulligan claimed the win in the next event, the women's 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.56), while Cara Egan was third in the same swim (1:09.19).
The Greyhounds won their third event in a row as Maholage touched the wall in 59.90 to win the 100-yard breastroke. Chris Cary was second in the event, swimming a time of 1:00.45.
Maggie Garrahan, Katie Ray and Samantha Freitas went one-two-three in both the women's 1- and 3-meter diving event, while Noel Theroux won the men's 3-meter event, and Sam Baluzy was third. Theroux and Baluzy were second and third in the men's 1-meter.
O'Hara captured top honors in the men's 200-yard backstroke, winning in 1:53.67, 4.20 in front of Wolfgang in third place. In the next event, Theresa McKallen was second in the women's 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.14), and Cary was second on the men's side (2:11.18).
Erin Calderoni took second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.88), a spot in front of Maddie Myers (5:13.34). Mueller placed second in the men's 100-yard butterfly (52.47).
Andrew Mann finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:55.18), and Maddie Myers was third in the women's 200-yard butterfly (2:11.09). Brianna Keelan placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (24.70), and Kopunek was third in the men's version of the race, touching the wall in 21.76.
