Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College Novice Crew team made its debut on the Schuykill River during last weekend's Frostbite and Bill Braxton Regattas. The race, which represented the crew's first of the season, went off without a hitch.
The first to race at Saturday's Frostbite was the women's Novice 4+. As with all first Novice races, the women got off the rocky start. They competed well with some tough schools like Dowling and Binghamton who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The Loyola 4+ fell to 4th place Binghamton with a time of 9:05.8. The winning boat was American University with a time of 7:18.4.
The second Novice race of the day was Novice men's 4+ that came 3rd against some intense competition.
Both crews raced well and will continue competition during Loyola's spring portion of the schedule.
