BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's rowing teams are seeking freshmen and sophomores for tryouts on the novice team this season.
No experience is needed to tryout, although experienced rowers are also welcome.
The team will have coaches and rowers available to answer questions on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the activities fair located on the quad. Members of the team will also be available on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the home soccer game at Ridley Athletic Complex.
The final information session will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, in the basement of the Student Center (Athletics Film Room). During this time, interested students may talk with coaches and rowers to answer any final questions and learn more about the program.
The rowing team has won four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles since 2004 and one IRA National Championship. The varsity men have competed at the men’s national championship for 8 of the last 12 years against the best teams the Ivy League and Pac 12 have to offer. Non-scholarship athletes who did not row in high school have always enhanced the team here.
Questions can be sent to the rowing office at 410-617-5671, and x5016 or by emailing Head Coach Al Ramirez (firstname.lastname@example.org).
