CAMDEN, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland women's lightweight four boat will attempt to defend its Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship this weekend when it competes on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.

The Greyhounds will open competition at the Championships Friday when they face Stanford, M.I.T., Tufts and Tulsa in a 9 a.m. heat.

Loyola will fill its boat with Kimberly Winiarczyk, Catriona Miller, Alexandra Dagenais, Julianne Roccuzzo and coxswain Katherine Griffin.

Earlier this season, the crew won the grand final of the Knecht Cup with a time of 8:11.11, defeating the University of Pittsburgh by 00:04.38.

Last year, the Greyhounds' boat - Daisy Carter, Elizabeth Staub, Miller, Winiarczyk and coxswain Katherine Griffin - defeated second-place Wisconsin by more than three seconds to win the IRA title.
