Rowing Heads To The 2013 Knecht Cup

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland rowing team returns to the Cooper River for the 2013 Knecht Cup on Saturday, April 13.

The women’s varsity pair will take to the water first, competing in heat three, lane four, with Villanova, University of Massachusetts, George Mason, and Penn State.

Moments later, the reigning women’s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference varsity four boat of the week will compete in heat six at 8:17 a.m. The Greyhounds will be located in lane two with boats from Lehigh, Old Dominion, Colgate, and George Mason. The first and second place boats will combine with the next six fastest times to advance to the semi-final.

Following the women, the men’s varsity four will compete in the second heat with Colgate, Philadelphia, George Mason, and Pittsburgh. The top two and the next four fastest times will advance to the semifinals at 3 p.m.

Women’s Pair: Shannon Connelly and Kathleen Sweeney

Men’s Four: Patrick Flynn, Bryan Carney, Walter Horan, Craig Spicer, and cox Joe Wawrynski

Men’s Pair: Juan Cadavid and Michael Blume
