Men's Pair, Varsity Four Move on to Finals at IRA Regatta

Cherry Hill, N.J. - Loyola's Men's Pair and Varsity Four with Coxswain moved on to Saturday's Finals at the IRA National Championship Regatta. Both boats took top three times in their Repachage to advance to the Petite and Third Level Finals on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.

The Men's Pair, with Jack Vitanovec and Thomas Bellew, moved on to the Petite Final with their third-place showing on Friday. The boat crossed the finish line in 7:36.7, behind Repachage champ Rutgers and second-place Navy.

Loyola's Varsity Four with Coxswain raced in Semifinals No. 3 Friday and posted a solid finish ahead of Minnesota, Washington State, Michigan and Boston University. The Greyhounds, behind Devin Marsicovetere, Marc Hesse, Cody Kishur, Zach Reichenbach and coxswain Genevieve Dalton, finished second to Navy with a time of 6:40.34

The second-place showing was good enough to put Loyola in the V4 Third Level Final against Navy, Minnesota, Rochester, St. Thomas and Delaware.

Both Greyhound boats will close out the 2007-08 season on Saturday in national championship finals races.
