WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland rowing team had a strong showing at the first day of the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake.
Craig Spicer and Robert Moore crossed the finish line in second with a time 7:35.35, making the pair eligible for the grand final race Sunday.
Later in the afternoon, the men's varsity four of Joseph Yacobucci, David Dukenik, Moore, Spicer and coxswain Megan Rabenberg placed fourth in the fourth heat with a time of 7:27.51.
Following the fours' race, all events on the lake were cancelled due to high winds.
Loyola returns to the water tomorrow for the second day of competition at the Knecht Cup.
