Golfers Move Into 10th Through Two Rounds Of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team moved into 10th place following the second round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort Monday.


Junior Brendan Peel posted the Greyhounds’ best round of the day, a 2-over 72, to sit tied for 26th heading into tomorrow’s final round with a two-round score of 7-over 147.


Sophomore Erick Alonso is second for Loyola, and tied for 31st overall, with a two-round total of 8-over 148 after shooting a 3-over 73 today.


Seniors Connor Flach and Will Wears both shot 4-over 74 today, with Wears tied for 42nd overall, at 9-over 149, and Flach tied for 67th, at 13-over 153.


Freshman Preston Ball is tied for 109th, shooting an 81 today for a total of 21-over 161.


As a team, the Greyhounds are at 37-over 597.


Marshall’s Clark Robinson leads the individuals with a 3-under 137, followed by Penn State’s Cole Miller and Ryan Dornes, who are tied for second at 1-under 139.


Penn State is atop the team leaderboard with a 7-over 567. Tennessee is second at 10-over 570, while Louisville is third at 13-over 573.


Loyola will return to the course on Tuesday for the third, and final, round.
