Tom Milajecki Named Director of Athletic Communications

BALTIMORE, MD -- Tom Milajecki, most recently of Princeton University, has been named the Director of Athletic Communications at Loyola College.

"We are fortunate to have a person of Tom's caliber and expertise joining Loyola athletics," said Loyola's Assistant Athletic Director for External Communications, Marty Kelly. "The recommendations from his peers and supervisors - and particularly those from Princeton women's lacrosse staff -were overwhelming."

"The dawn of the internet mandates a new era in athletic communications, and we look forward to Tom's anticipated contributions to media relations, publications and the web," Kelly added.

Milajecki, a 2000 Walsh University graduate, has several years experience in the sports information field including the past two years at Princeton where he served as the Assistant Director and primary contact for the men's soccer, sprint football, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, golf, crew and swimming and diving teams. Milejecki was also the second contact for the Tigers football squad. He was also responsible for developing the Princeton Sports Annual, the Princeton Varsity Club Newsletter and an athletic solicitation piece. Milejecki also provided color commentary for several Princeton radio broadcasts with the football, women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams. Milajecki also currently worked as a media services game-day assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles where his duties included keeping backup statistics, proofing press notes and other game-day materials, set up and management of press box and post game conference room and transcribing post-game quotes.

Prior to his appointment at Princeton, Milajecki served as a Sports Information Intern at the University of Toledo where he worked with the cross country, golf, tennis, track and swimming and diving teams. There he also maintained the university's athletics web site and the city of Toledo's web site.

Milajecki also worked with the Miami Dolphins as a Season Intern from 1999-2000 where he served as a multimedia resource coordinator and was responsible for the maintenance of the Dolphins media library.

At Walsh, Milajecki earned a degree in Communications and was named the departments Outstanding Senior. He worked as a sports writer for the university's news paper, a public address announcer for the volleyball squad, play-by-play and color commentary announcer for the football team, head of video production for the women's basketball team and also developed the men's basketball web site.

Milajecki will serve as the primary contact for Loyola's men's soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Communications office.
