VOTE IGGY! Loyola's Mascot In Title Round Of Catholic Mascotology

BALTIMORE - Iggy, the Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds’ mascot, is in the championship round of Busted Halo’s Catholic Mascotology. after defeating fellow Patriot League school College of the Holy Cross in the semifinals.

Now, Iggy will face another familiar foe for all of the mascot bragging rights as he takes on Petey Griffin, mascot of the Greyhounds’ former Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Canisius College.

Loyola and Canisius have been voting partners throughout the Catholic Mascotology, and it has propelled each mascot to the title match. Now, however, Iggy and Petey will compete against one another for the vaunted prize of the nation’s top Catholic mascot!

The Greyhounds are proud holders of two national championships: the 1976 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer crown and the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse title. Now, Iggy will compete for another.
