Mark Harris Chosen For Loyola Fund-Raising Position

Baltimore, Md. - Loyola University Maryland today announced the appointment of Mark Harris to the position of Associate Director, Athletics Annual Fund. His responsibilities begin on September 7 and he will work jointly with Loyola's Offices of Advancement and Athletics.

"This is a terrific opportunity to become involved with Loyola University Maryland in this capacity," Harris said upon his appointment. "I am looking forward to the new relationships that await me in working with the Greyhounds' coaches, student-athletes, alumni, parents and friends."

"It gives us great pleasure to announce Mark has accepted the position," Loyola Vice President of Advancement Megan Gillick and Greyhounds Director of Athletics Jim Paquette commented in a combined statement. "This search was a collaborative effort of the Advancement and Athletic Offices and we are grateful to those who participated in the process."

Harris joins Loyola from his position as Assistant Director of Athletic Development at Northeastern University which he has held since 2007. During that three-year span, the Huskies established both fundraising dollar and donor participation records for Athletics. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Director of Sports Information for two years (2005-2007) working with Northeastern's football and men's basketball programs.

Previous to his positions at Northeastern, Harris worked as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Stonehill College and as an intern for the Pawtucket Red Sox. The Connecticut native was graduated from Bucknell University in 2004, where he was a member of the Bison rowing team, and added his master's from Northeastern in 2009.
