BALTIMORE - Earlier this week, in conjunction with the Loyola University Maryland Career Center, the Office of Academic Affairs for Varsity Athletics hosted its first ever Student-Athlete Etiquette Dinner.
Forty-five Greyhounds attended the event where dinner consisted of a three course meal and etiquette presentation by Jen Rowley, Associate Director of the Career Center.
During the meal, each table of student-athletes had a representative from Stanley Black & Decker, a Fortune 500 company with major operations in the Baltimore area. The Stanley Black & Decker employees dined with the student-athletes and critiqued them on networking skills. Two of the company's representatives were former Loyola student-athletes: swimmer Brad Resser and rower Josh Tarini.
Loyola alumnus Ralph Doran, Director of Talent Management at Stanley Black & Decker, also presented the do's and don'ts of interviewing and how to market their athletic skills to help them acquire job offers.
