Scott Lowe was named the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Sales at Loyola University Maryland in September 2010. Lowe comes to Loyola after serving as the CEO and Partner at API Sports Management and Marketing for the past two years and begins his position immediately.
"We would like to welcome Scott and his family back to Loyola," Director of Athletics Jim Paquette said in making the announcement. "Since he was last with us, Scott has developed an extensive list of regional and national contacts and relationships that will be critical as we enter a new phase of marketing Loyola University Maryland and Greyhounds athletics. In his previous business ventures, he has excelled at partnering with corporate sponsors, increasing ticket sales, maximizing game attendance and improving the overall fan experience. These initiatives will be key drivers of the future success at Loyola and I'm thrilled that Scott will be leading our sales and marketing team."
Lowe added, "I'm thrilled to be returning to Loyola at such an exciting time. A new athletic administration and the presence of one of the nation's top new facilities, combined with the standard of excellence established by the previous administration, provides a great opportunity for Loyola athletics to reach new heights. I look forward to being part of the University's continued growth and development."
At API Sports Management and Marketing, he was involved in marketing and management for contracted events as well as API-created events and coordinated grassroots initiatives and marketing. Lowe also represented professional athletes for marketing, appearances, and endorsements.
Some of his clients have included more than 20 pro athletes, Ripken Baseball, the Baltimore Orioles and the Big Ten and BIG EAST conferences. He managed and marketed the Big Ten/BIG EAST Baseball Challenge and was part of a group that owned and operated a traveling professional fast pitch all-star team.
Prior to his time at API, Lowe worked in some capacity with the Tufton Group and Ripken Baseball for nearly 10 years. Lowe had a series of roles with Tufton and Ripken Baseball including director of baseball operations, vice president of baseball development, general manager of Ripken Baseball Camps and Clinics, and manager of program and product development.
Lowe also spent eight years working in collegiate sports information at Loyola, Drexel and Princeton. He previously worked at Loyola from 1995-98, serving as the assistant and head sports information director.
A 1991 graduate of the University of Maryland, Scott lives in Owings Mills, Md., with his wife, Robin, who is the athletic director for girls at the Park School and their two children, Devin and Sydney.
