Steve Austin's tenure at Loyola dates to the mid-1990s when he arrived on the Evergreen Campus. Since then, he has directed the medical treatment and injury prevention of hundreds of Greyhound student-athletes.
The Castleton, Vt., native came to Loyola in September 1996 as a Part-Time Assistant Athletic Trainer and became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer from 1998-2001.
After finishing his coursework and obtaining his master's of education in curriculum and instruction, Austin was elevated to Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2001.
He earned his bachelor of science in athletic training degree from Castleton State College in 1996. Austin has been married for over four years to the former Joann Cassano, who also works in Loyola's athletics department.
