Loyola Student-Athletes Receive Awards At Honors Convocation
Sept. 29, 2009
Several Loyola University Maryland student-athletes received various academic and leadership awards at last weekend's Honors Convocation.
Senior Heather Cooke, a two-time All-MAAC honoree in women's soccer, received the Cura Personalis Award. The honor recognizes and honors students who embody the Ignatian ideal of care for the whole person through demonstrated service, leadership, and academic achievement.
A pair of seniors, Dennis Delany of the men's rowing team and Colleen Kinealy from the women's soccer team, received the Magis Scholar-Leader Award. This award recognizes and honors students who complement superior academic performance with co-curricular involvement.
Senior men's lacrosse player Nick Federici was honored for his participation in the Green & Grey Society. The 14 members of the group were chosen by their peers and the Loyola University administration for their contributions to the University and their leadership abilities. The Society acts as a liaison between the President and the student body.
