BALTIMORE - Christopher Archacki, a longtime Loyola University Maryland employee, has joined the Department of Athletics as the Director of Athletic Business Operations, announced Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Jim Paquette.
Archacki begins his role today after spending the last 14 years in Loyola's Department of Recreational Sports.
"Throughout his years at Loyola, Chris has demonstrated managerial expertise, strong fiscal and budgetary management skills, strategic thinking and reflective leadership skills," Paquette said. "He has earned the respect of colleagues in all areas of the University by demonstrating a strong commitment to our university mission, essential problem-solving skills and a student-centered philosophy."
In the athletic department, he will oversee the budget of Loyola's 18 varsity sports and associated support areas. Archacki will oversee all financial compliance reporting and adherence to budget standards of the University, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the NCAA.
"This is an exciting time for Loyola Athletics, and I am grateful for this opportunity," said Archacki. "I am looking forward to the challenges ahead so that our teams can have every potential advantage needed to compete at the highest levels".
A graduate of Providence College, Archacki joined Loyola in July 1997 and was involved in the planning and opening of the Fitness & Aquatic Center at the school in 2000. As the Associate Director of Recreational Sports, Archacki has managed his department's budget and provided leadership to many other areas.
In addition to his bachelor's degree, Archacki holds a Master of Science in Sport Organization from Miami University, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Business in Management from the Loyola Sellinger School of Business.
