Longtime Loyola Basketball Public Address Announcer Dies

Baltimore, Md. - Loyola College Alumnus and former Loyola basketball public address announcer John Fitzpatrick died on Saturday, April 21.
Known for its clear baritone and effective pronunciation, Fitzpatrick's voice resonated in Reitz Arena for over a decade. He was a loyal supporter of and believer in Loyola Basketball, and was a member of the Loyola Basketball Advocates in 2003-04.
"No one represented Loyola Basketball more professionally than John Fitzpatrick," said Loyola Assistant AD Martin Kelly. "Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
Friends may call at the family-owned Mitchell-Weidefeld Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
